* AJ is a Professional Drummer and Educator in the Bristol area. Having spent his youth studying at a number of established institutes, AJ spends his time teaching and being active as a working musician in various music scenes.
As part of the Vic Firth Education Team he teaches over 80 students a week, which includes teaching at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol). His educational product “The Drummer’s Odyssey” was released in 2017 and received a 4/5 star book review in the UK's leading drum magazine, 'RHTYHM MAGAZINE'.
Having honed his craft by playing in churches whilst growing up, and then gigging extensively as an adult, AJ has built a reputation as a regularly called upon musician. As a session player he has toured and shared the stage with a number of Bristol's solo artists, which includes headlining the Bristol 02 Academy with Makala Cheung.
AJ is the founder and director of "The Drummer's Odyssey Camp" which is an annual drum camp, which brings some of the best drummers/teachers in the world to Bristol for a weekend to teach and socialise with the enthusiastic camp attendees. Past TDOC Tutors have included Anika Nilles, Emmanuelle Caplette, Pete Riley, Gabor Dornyei, Pete Cater and Ben Thomas.
AJ is endorsed by Vic Firth Drumsticks, Evans Drum Heads, Bosphorus Cymbals, Bill Sanders Practice Pads and Cosmic Ears In-Ear Monitoring. He is passionate about music and committed to his work as a musician and an educator. *
